OUR Story
For more than four decades, the West Side Catholic Center has been a place of hope and hospitality for individuals and families in need. Our story is rooted in compassion and a commitment to serving all who come to our doors.
OUR Mission
Grounded in faith, hope, love and respect for those we serve, the West Side Catholic Center assists all who come in need of food, clothing, shelter, advocacy and a path to self-sufficiency.
Since 1977, the West Side Catholic Center has been a trusted place of hope for individuals and families experiencing hardship. Founded by local churches responding to deep community need, WSCC has grown into a unique, private, nonprofit organization with Catholic roots—independent of the Diocese and Catholic Charities—serving everyone who comes to our doors.

For more than 40 years, WSCC has walked alongside individuals and families facing hardship by offering essential services—from meals and clothing to shelter, housing support, advocacy, and job readiness.

Across our five core programs, we provide the tools and compassionate support people need to address immediate challenges and build long-term stability.
Healing starts with feeling safe, seen, and supported. In 2010, WSCC began integrating trauma-informed care into every aspect of our work—training all staff and volunteers in practices rooted in safety, trust, choice, collaboration, and empowerment.

This approach helps ensure that every interaction, space, and service is welcoming, respectful, and grounded in dignity, recognizing the complex paths individuals take toward stability and recovery.
